Позволь поздравить тебя с праздником – Днём охраны мест обитания!» - такими словами начинается одно из многих поздравлений животным в рамках конкурса открыток на тему «Поздравь с Днём охраны мест обитания животное, обитателя природного парка «Вулканы Камчатки», который проводился отделом экологического просвещения природного парка с 6 октября по 6 ноября 2011 года

- В третьем квартале 2011 года отделом охраны КГУ «Природный парк «Вулканы Камчатки» выявлено на территории и пресечено 66 нарушений законодательства в области охраны окружающей среды, в числе которых – 35 нарушений правил добывания объектов животного мира, 18 нарушений правил рыболовства, 8 нарушений режима водоохраной зоны, 4 лесонарушения

- В середине осени 2011 года от туристов, путешествующих по территории Налычевского природного парка, поступило тревожное сообщение о том, что водопад на реке Шумной – одно из интереснейших в ландшафтном плане мест центральной части парка – перестал существовать после схода каменной лавины. Однако эта информация не подтвердилась – сотрудник парка Александр Осипов, отправленный на осмотр места происшествия, зафиксировал, что водопад хоть и пострадал от стихии, но не уничтожен

- Первый шаг к развитию солнечной энергетики на особо охраняемых природных территориях Камчатки сделан. В ноябре КГУ «Природный парк «Вулканы Камчатки» получил 5 комплектов солнечных модулей ФСМ-220. В следующем сезоне планируется их установка на кордонах «Центральный», «Авачинский перевал» и «Мыс Налычева» на территории Налычевского парка, а также – на Димчиканском кордоне Быстринского парка

Tours and Trails
Tourism in Kronotsky Zapovednik is conducted with two priorities in mind: to teach the facts about the natural world of the reserve, and to develop a connection to this world and appreciation for its value. By visiting the reserve, tourists not only learn about the unique natural complexes of Kamchatka, but also come to understand their fragility, and how easily they can be destroyed by man.
Tours in the reserve are organized so as to preserve nature untouched, true to its original form and appearance.
Tours are conducted by two tourism companies, “Krechet” and “Krai,” both of which operate under contract with the zapovednik.
Valley of the Geysers Tour.

1. Valley of the Geysers Tour – one-day, by helicopter
Arrival to helicopter pad near the city of Elizovo and departure by helicopter to the Valley of the Geysers – 250 km one-way, an approximately 1-hour 15-minute flight. During the flight – views of the major active volcanoes of Eastern Kamchatka – Avachinsky, Koryaksky, Zhupanovsky, Karymsky, and Malyi Semyachik. In the Valley of the Geysers tours are conducted along wooden footpaths equipped with viewing areas; the total length of the paths is 1325 m, and overall tour time is 2-3 hours. Then visitors return to the helicopter pad in Elizovo. Overall trip time – 5-6 hours.
The main geysers and geothermal areas are located in the central part of the Valley of the Geysers, where wooden footpaths and 7 viewing areas have been constructed. Footpaths have wooden railings in steep areas. There are 2 helicopter pads in the Valley of the Geysers. |

2. Uzon Caldera Tour – one-day, by helicopter
Arrival to helicopter pad near the city of Elizovo and departure by helicopter to Uzon Caldera – 200 km one-way, an approximately 1-hour 10-minute flight. During the flight – views of the major active volcanoes of Eastern Kamchatka – Avachinsky, Koryaksky, Zhupanovsky, Karymsky, and Malyi Semyachik. At Uzon Caldera tours are conducted along wooden footpaths; overall length of the footpaths is 1300 m; the tour is about 2 hours long. Return to helicopter pad in Elizovo. Overall trip time – 4-5 hours.
The most interesting sites at Uzon Caldera are located near the caldera’s center, where tourists can view the activity of boiling mud pots and fumaroles from wooden footpaths and 3 viewing areas. There is one helicopter pad at Uzon Caldera.
