What to see on Kamchatka

Volcanoes of Kamchatka are in UNESCO’s Global 200 list of the world’s most important eco-regions. See Kamchatka brown bears and Steller Sea Eagles. Kamchatka rainbow trout fishing is fantastic. Kamchatka skiing is a winter and springtime delight. Visit the Valley of Geysers and Uzon Caldera in Kronotsky Preserve. Bear viewing at Kurilskoye Lake at Yuzhno-Kamchatsky Reserve is world class. Enjoy hiking Kamchatka volcanoes in Nalychevo Nature Park. Visit the Klyuchevskoy Nature Park, home of Klyuchevskoy Volcano, Eurasia’s highest active volcano. Cruise to the Commander Islands Preserve to see many seabirds and sea mammals. Learn about the Even native culture in Bystrinsky Nature Park and enjoy a home stay in the village of Esso. In mid to late summer, hike to the active Mutnovsky or Avacha Volcanoes near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
